Lets GO GREEN.

Yogis see the body as a vehicle for the soul and therefore treats it with love, respect , and care. There are also many other reasons that yogis see in being a vegetarian, one of them is Yamas. Yamas practice non violence , control of sexual , energy , non stealing and non covetousness.

I have never thought that i want be a 100% vegetarian although i am not a meat lover. Basically , i am only living with fish , chicken and vegetables. So, being a vegetarian should sound easier to me. But , this is not always the case as i think i still have the desire of taking fish and chicken.

Recently ,  despite from the influences from my yoga gurus and teachers sharing their views on being vegetarian , i felt that my body works better with green food rather than meat. Last 2 days ,as i was having lunch with my colleagues , they suggested that we have KFC ( Kentucky Fried Chicken - fast food chain store ) for lunch as there are not much choices around our office area. I am surprise that the first thing i was reacting was...yuksss...can we eat something else rather than those frozen fried chicken ? Those chicken was injected with hormones to make them grow faster to fits the demands on the food industry. As no one commented on the idea of having KFC, i tend agreed to it.

I had no appetite at all although i was really starving , which i always do.My boy friend always make fun of me saying that he could not find any of day that i will say i am full. The moment i finish those 2 oily , tasteless fried chicken with lots of flours covered on top of the skin, i was about to throw out. I cant forget how bad the taste was. I usually feel bad when i eat as i feel guilty on the food i am having. But , this time , the feeling was not guilty of eating fattening food which is full of fats and carbs. I was feeling very uncomfortable when the piece of meat run down my throat and digested in my stomach. This is the first time , i swear to myself that i will never want to have KFC anymore and i really want to GO GREEN for a change and for the environment and health.

One of my yoga teachers has put this into my mind to think about. If u have a pet , will u want to eat it ? If your pet is a chicken, will u want to kill them? If u can go green a a day or two , why not the rest of your life?
Something nice to think about when u want to eat that piece of grilled chicken.

I might not be able to be a vegetarian today at this stage but i will try harder not to eat my pet and go green. For the world , for a healthier body , for the peace of mind. Whatever reason it is, from today , go green and be non violence to the animal and earth.Save the earth, as an area of the world's rain forest is greater than the size of england is destroyed each year as the trees are cut down , largely to create grazing for food animals ( quoted from yoga mind and body by sivananda yoga vedanta center )

For love and peace, for the world that we live, lets GO GREEN :)
